They should honestly rework the Rogue Mechanic tree, and do that for the Artificer, it makes way more sense. It just feels like the ranged fighting of the Artificer wasn't thought through well enough. Not to mention bows, specifically rangers, get an ability that allows them to hit multiple enemies so they also get to use their range power for room clearing. I am not saying they need to be equal to bow or throwing builds, but the disparity in damage is extremely noticeable. I don't run a premade, but you have to understand that 20 range power throughout the entire tree is pretty pitiful right? I was saying after level 10 I started to see the issue with dropping enemies. Has SSG made any comments on how the Artificer's ranged abilities are lacking? Do they ever plan to rework the Battle Engineer tree to be an actual ranged tree instead of a pseudo caster tree? It would just be nice to be able to use the Repeating Crossbow, since.ya know.they gain the ability to use it at level 1 and gain feats connected to it automatically. In fact the Capstone ability makes your weapon a spellcasting implement, which I feel like misses the point of it being a ranged tree. What is the point of giving the Artificer the ability to use a ranged weapon, and an enhancement tree supposedly designed around using it, when it doesn't provide you with the power needed to actually do damage with it? RM you gain more HP, positive and repair spell power, makes sense for a healing tree.ĪT you gain universal spell power, makes sense for a caster tree.īattle Engineer boosts your Rune Arm (somewhat) and gives you some abilities and a few skills that up the damage for a repeating crossbow by 1 or 2 damage for 2 points! No ranged power overall anywhere. When looking into the Enhancement Trees both Renegade Mastermaker and Arcanotechnician gain something the more points you spend within the tree or more core skills you gain.
